Jo has her masters in Education; is a Licensed School Counselor (2026); she has her Mindful Teacher Certification through Mindful Schools, and has completed over 300 + hours of Mindful Practice and instruction. She is certified from Mayo Clinic/ASU, in Mindfulness, Health/and Wellness , She has over 30 years of educational experience working with teens and adults, as a teacher, coach and counselor, and curriculum writer and has created mindful retreat centers for her clients.
And believes that each person holds the answers to their challenges when they practice creating a gap of time to listen to the wisdom inside.
Jo(Mia), originally from Denver Colorado, played Division I Volleyball at Colorado State University
where she learned about visualization first hand sports phycologist Dr. Richard Suinn, in MSBR.
Her research for her masters centered on how visualization and stress management helps to increase Peak Performances. More recently Jo has added MBAT (Mindful Based Attention Training, Jha Lab) to her services providing the "missing link" to finding and enhancing the "Zone of Performance" even more.
She has recently presented to the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association state symposium on how Attention can help with building resilience "Finding Resilience in Stressful Times".
Jo loves working with highly competitive athletes, and has coached two 5 A State Championship High School Volleyball teams and aided in multiple other state championships and contender accomplishments! Including 2 state champion track/field awards, worked with multiple baseball , basketball , softball and golf teams to increase successes. She has helped marathon runners singers, public speakers, with performance anxiety and better performances.
Jo holds a Colorado School Counseling license and more recently Jo has completed multiple years of Mindfulness training through Mindful Schools, and has been granted the Mindful Teacher Certification with over 300 hours of Mindful Schools curriculum training for K-12 grades. Most recently she has completed the Mayo Clinic/ Arizona State University Mindfulness, Health and Wellness Certification. She has taught students and faculty about self compassion and mindfulness and strives to teach each person to look inside for their higher connection and true guidance.
Jo is excited to be working with all individuals who want to work toward more success, less stress and more resiliency.
